The House of Dr. Schill (33, Kardovsky Street). Near the corner of Veterinarniy Alley is a solid two-story blue house with a little stone gatehouse. More than 100 years ago it was owned by a doctor, Vladimir Karlovich Shiell. His will gave the house to the town as a college for girls, but the building was never used for these purposes by the Duma of Pereslavl. In 1918 here was opened a museum of local lore, which moved a year later to the former Goritskiy Monastery. For a while the building was occupied by the Town Board of Education. Later the doctor’s house was redesigned and divided into apartments.
